5SOUL3 Artist Manifesto

In developing the urban soul of Portland, OR and surrounding areas, we must unite our collective energy, talents, and support one another in order to grow. With this intention, here is a list of ideas to firmly and boldly establish our presence, our talents, and our community in Portland as a prime destination for soulful artistic expression.

-Support and promote a community calendar By support we must be consistent in posting our shows and events to the calendar. Then we must post calendar widgets and links on every social network we actively participate in. The calendar is provided google under the name of "The 5SOUL3 Movement." To post your dates you need to create a google calendar account. Then send an email to dluxthelight@gmail.com stating you would like to post your dates to the calendar. I will reply with instructions of what you need to provide. "The 5SOUL3 Movement" Calendar will provide a central location for potential fans to find urban soul music in Portland, OR.

-Support and promote a community blog The 5SOUL3 blog is a community blog for artist to post anything relating to their journey as a performer. To provide proper support to the blog, we should provide one blog post a month. To promote, again, post widgets and links on every social network we are actively involved with. With a central blog, it shows the true size and force of our movement. It shows our continuous progression and advancement in our careers. Our stories will bring more people and more attention to we do on a deeper level. This will establish our scene.

-Find and link to each other on social networks Most of us already do this, and we just need to expand it to all networks we are a part of. Youtube, myspace, facebook, ning, soundclick, twitter etc… This will keep us more up to date with each of us our doing. We will be able to more effectively promote each other's events and happenings, which increases the word-of-mouth marketing.

This is a living document, meaning more points will be added as we grow. This is an open document, meaning that your constructive input is needed and desired. Use the comments to add your points, thoughts, and concerns.
