Mos Def Show Rescheduled

This was written on the 22nd of may, after discovering the show was rescheduled. Sorry for the delay.

Due to traveling difficulties my Mos Def evening has BEEN postponed. I say boo to this.
Anyway, I'm sitting here wondering what takes to make your city recognize you. Lilla D'mone is doing a free show tonight in absence of mos Def. There are maybe ten people here right now. If they are like me they are here for the hell of it. No dis to Lilla but we didn't come to see her. What does it take for your city to recognize? Assuming talent is equal, does take the world telling us what we got? GO to NYC or LA and have them validate, place their stamp on your ticket to fame on your own stage? Hope not.
I don't like to blame people, the fans. They don't know any better until they know. As Mos would of said tonight, the hard headed got to feel it to believe it. I think up to artist to think bigger and build. Also artist have to do the work to connect their music to the market, without selling out and seeming fake. What about you as an artist connects most with people then market the hell out of it.
